During his secondment in Dunedin the Ulm team leader Prof. Johannes Hecker Denschlag and the host Prof. M.F. Andersen had extensive discussions on coherence aspects of photon scattering, laser cooling methods, field sensing with Rydberg atoms, as well as light frequency conversion in non-linear materials. While visiting Prof. S.A. Parkins in Auckland, Prof. J.H. Denschlag worked on cavity QED, cold chemistry and was learning about Monte Carlo simulations
From 30.01-31.03.2026 the project coordinator Dr. Teodora Velcheva Kirova visited Prof. K.P.Nayak’s Lab at the University of Electrocommunications (UEC), Tokyo. She continued the collaborative efforts from her previous visits on the simulation of available experimental data on atoms in the vicinity of an optical nanofiber, which corresponds to WP3 “Experimental realization and control of quantum emitters”. Dr. Kirova developed a theoretical model and created a couple of codes in the QuTip programming software to describe these systems. Upon calculating various experimental parameters necessary for the numerical simulation, she obtained reasonable numerical results. Dr. Kirova continued to prepare presentations, as well as notes for the students on the theoretical description of these systems. In parallel, she worked with Ms. B. Putthanveettil, a PhD student who performed the experiment together with her MS degree students, on the theoretical methodologies. This way, both Dr. Kirova and Ms. Putthanveettil contributed to the WP4 “Training activities”. Future work will include continuing the cooperation with Prof. K.P.Nayak and his students simulated the experimental data

A PhD student candidate from Ulm University Leonadro Romanato was seconded to University of Parma from 27 June to 13 July 20026. Together with the host Prof. S. Wimberger he worked on the theoretical aspects of increasing the speed of photoassociation processes in ultracold atoms
The leader of the Ulm team Prof. Johannes H. Denschlag spent 20.07- 7.08.2026 at University of Latvia, where together with the Q-DYNAMO coordinator Dr. Teodora Kirova worked on cold chemistry QED. He also visited various labs at the Institute of Atomic Physics and Spectroscopy, as well as the Laser Centre, discussing possible future collaborations and submission of new project applications.
On 4.08.2026 he gave a lecture to the Faculty of Science and Technology members presenting his current research at UULM "Demonstrating beam splitters for reaction pathways in the field of cold chemistry".
From 22 to 24.07.2026 a member of the Otago team Prof. Ashton Bradley visited UPR to work with the host Prof. Sandro Wimberger on topics related to dynamic quantum control of atomic systems. He also presented a seminar entitled "Regimes of turbulence in a quantum fluid"
